We’re sick of the cold, we’ve had some warm days, we can smell spring in the air, and what does this mean?
We’re getting a delivery of 12.5 tons of soil in bags and we need help unloading them!
Every year as the spring comes, we buy soil amendments for the front and rear gardens on a first come, first served basis. And it shows up on 48th street at 10am in a big flatbed truck and we need to move it off the truck and onto the street, then onto the lawn and the various front and rear plots.
We need people to help empty the truck and then move the soil. If you can’t lift we understand, but we need those of you that can to avoid the gym that day and get a real workout.
It’s always best if you can get there early and help us prep, and then we form a human chain and unload the truck. It’s fun and instructional and a great workout.
Saturday, March 28 @ 10am at the garden the truck will show. Please be early to help unload.
Many thanks to all who made our 30th Anniversary Celebration a great success!
And special thanks to State Senator Brad Hoylman who declared September 30th as “Clinton Community Garden Day” in New York’s 27th senate district!
